What is coaching?
The kind of coaching that I do is one where I am present with the client, listen to what they have to say and provide guidance so they can see how they are creating their reality. My role is to point my clients back to their innate intelligence and allow them to access the infinite wisdom. Innate health lies in all of us and with a bit of guidance, clients begin to see it.
Who is coaching for?
Unlike other streams like therapy, coaching is not only just when one needs intervention. Coaching based on the principles is for anyone who wishes to make a change in the way they see life so they can face whatever happens and are less constrained by circumstances. There is innate intelligence and innate well being as a result of that intelligence, but we do not tap into it as we are busy dealing with problems on the surface. So, anyone wishing to rediscover their inner self and strength can benefit from coaching. You can benefit from coaching if you have some desires like (to name a few)
-
Boost your self confidence
-
Live in the now
-
Stop feeling stuck and make progress instead
-
Uncover your full potential
-
Be able to enjoy life
-
Be less anxious and stressed
-
Have good relationships
-
Improve your resilience
-
Manage chronic pain better
Are there pre-requisites?
There are no pre-requisites as such. As long as you are committed and open minded, you can benefit from coaching. It is also worth pointing out coaching will only apply to you, not to people around you. What I mean by this is that sessions will not help us change others. It is your own journey.
How many sessions will one need?
This is a difficult question as there is no one size fits all. One thing to remember – we often have the problems for years together so expecting one hour conversation to resolve it can be quite a challenge. A few sessions may be needed and for some people, it may be worthwhile having regular sessions just so they can offload. It can be a bit like gym for the body.
How long is each session?
Each session is typically an hour long.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is not a substitute for therapy so if you have been asked to go for therapy by your doctor, please do so. Coaching has been helpful for people with mental illness like depression and anxiety. But coaching is helpful for those with no particular illness and are just looking to live to their full potential.
